Quality assurance trainee (6 months)

Company description:

European Test Services (ETS) is maintaining and providing test facility services to European industry by managing and operating the environmental test centre of the European Space Agency (ESA) located in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

ETS is active in mechanical testing, EMC testing, thermal vacuum testing, altitude simulation and more. In addition to the test services, ETS also provides test-related engineering and consultancy services.

Besides testing of spacecraft and space applications, ETS has also become a major supplier of testing services to railway-, marine- and power/electric industry.

Context description

ETS is a certified company against the ISO9001 standard and together with the test centre division of ESA certified against ECSS-Q-ST-20-07 A.

In the frame of the release of the new update of these standard and because of high customer requirements, ETS performed a complete review of its QMS via a gap analysis against the ECSS-Q-ST-20-07 C (space product assurance standard for the test centres) and the EN9100 (specific requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense organisation)

Coming out of this analysis, major stakes for the company are identified and described in 7 work packages.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Under the responsibility of the QA deputy manager, the trainee will have full autonomy on 2 work packages :

WP1 – Supplier management:

-        Evaluate the process as it is and identify possible improvements

-        Define a supplier follow up process (new supplier selection, approval status…)

-        Complete the supplier selection process (criteria) before order

-        Determine in coordination with the purchase officers the list of supplier records (certificate of conformity, maintenance report…)

WP6 – Risk management:

-        Define the risk management process including the business, project, tests and operational risks.

-        Perform an impact analysis on all other processes and propose a compliance action plan.

 

Depending on the performance of the candidate, a significant contribution is also expected on the WP5: Safety management.

Depending on the motivation of the candidate and as long as it is not to the detriment of the work package realisation, the candidate will be involved and trained on the daily topic of the quality management.

The candidate will have to interface with the Administration & Purchase manager and the purchase officers for the WP1. Considering the WP6, he will interface with the managing director and all the other managers.

Candidate profile

Our requirements for the candidate:

-        Master’s degree student in Quality management or equivalent

-        Knowledge of the ISO9001 standard. EN9100 and ECSS would be an asset.

-        Fluent in English

-        Good analytical and synthesis skills

-        Available for 6 months (preferably from Jan-16)

-        Good communication skills, comfortable in presentation and group animation

-        Highly motivated and ambitious
