Van Allen Foundation

Intespace sponsors the creation of the University of Montpellier space center

Signing of agreementThis center will be the first of its kind in Europe and only the second one in the world: the University of Montpellier space center will be built with support from the Van Allen Foundation. A founding member of the foundation, Intespace will work with Montpellier university teams to design and build the site: identification of requirements, project engineering, training, implementation, etc.

The purpose of the test center is to allow students from the University of Montpellier to complete a nanosatellite project from start to finish. For the student, it is an opportunity to work for several years on a real project and to absorb space culture hands-on. For Intespace and Airbus Defence & Space, another founding member, the project is an opportunity to consolidate ties with the university and create synergy between the space industry and researchers, acade mics, and students.

The project financing agreement was signed on December 5th, 2013, during the inauguration of the Van Allen Foundation in Montpellier
